Accommodation in Zadar
Finding accommodation in Zadar can be a bit tricky if you are seeking budget friendly prices since those are a bit far from the downtown, without much public transportation options in Zadar you will either have to rent a car/bike or hope to get lucky as I did.
I booked a small yet effective and budget friendly apartment room from booking right in the middle of the downtown, as soon as I stepped outside I was surrounded by places to eat/drink already.
Sightseeing in Zadar
Honestly when it comes to planning the sightseeing there aren’t much options in Zadar downtown since it’s a very small center anyways so it will take half a day to just go see them all, although i will still leave the tourist attraction spots down below on the places I have been to.
Transportation in Zadar
Transportation can be solved by mainly two way in Zadar, you either rent a car or a bike since there aren’t much public transportation in the city. If you wanna go stroll outside the city center I recommend for you to rent some bikes from bike stations and if you want some further adventure there are ferries which take you to other islands.
Nightlife in Zadar
I can’t say much about the nightlife in Zadar besides a couple of basic bars in the downtown and just regular pop culture music in the background. Although as long as you wanna get drunk and have fun the alcohol tastes the same so feel free to push the limits within the city walls and enjoy the summer vibes by welcoming the first rays of the sun at The Greeting To The Sun.
Some of the spots that I have visited in Zadar:
Sea Organ
An interesting tourist attraction spot also for chilling and enjoying the sea view while you get to hear the non-stop melodies of the waves hitting the sea organ underneath the stairs you sit on. During the day it might be challenging to enjoy it under the sun but it’s safe to say that during late night when it’s less crowded the experience is worth giving a try when you are there.
The Greeting To The Sun
This spot is located right next to the Sea Organ and nothing much different other than the endless viewpoint you get for free. It’s also another tourist attraction point which you might as well go and see it alongside the Sea Organ while you are there.
Kolovare Beach
A public beach in Zadar which takes around 10-15 minutes to get there from the downtown by a bike you can rent from the bike stations located right outside of the city walls. It’s a nice beach to get refreshed and rest as long as you want but have it in mind that it’s a rocky beach so it might be a bit of a struggle while getting in the water or if you are thinking about laying on some sharp rocks.
Preko
There is a ferry which takes you from Zadar to Preko just in 30 minutes across the water, if you wanna try different beaches and add some spice to your trip in Zadar I recommend you to go to Preko at least for a day. I preferred to go chill on the Jaz Beach in Preko for the majority of my trip instead of Kolovare Beach in Zadar because of the fact that Jaz Beach had sandy entrance which made it more comfortable to swim or even just stand in the water and play around since the water levels don’t go that deep unless you go way further in the sea. Be careful not to miss the last scheduled ferry back to Zadar otherwise you will have to find yourself a place to sleep in Preko for the night.
